A Wedding at Landerhaven: Justin+Lindsey

10.09.2015 was a cold, wet day, but it was made beautiful by smiles, laughter and fun shared at Justin and Lindsey’s wedding. The girls got ready at Lindsey’s parent’s house and their yard provided the perfect fall backdrop for some photos. 1L+Jwed-1152-lowresWhen it came time to put Lindsey’s dress on for pictures, she discovered the ribbon needed to lace up the back of her dress was missing! Her sister came to the rescue with a white shoe string. The shoestring worked perfectly and allowed us to get some photos while waiting for the ribbon to arrive from the dress shop. I loved how chill Lindsey was about all of it. 2L+Jwed-1229-lowresMeanwhile, the guys were just hanging out at Justin’s house and getting ready moments before it was time to head to Ursuline College for the bride and groom’s first look.

We couldn’t have been more lucky because moments after the above image was taken, we all piled in cars to head to the ceremony and as we drove away the rain started pouring down. Thankfully the rain didn’t last too long. As we arrived at Landerhaven it started to slow down just in time for the ceremony.

The reception was beautiful and when we took off everyone was dancing the night away. We had such a fun day working with an amazing couple and their wonderful friends and family. Congratulations, Lindsey and Justin and blessings for a long and happy life together!

St. Ann Wedding: Courtney+Ricky

September 26, 2015 was a beautiful fall day here in Northeast Ohio and it just happened to be Courtney and Ricky’s wedding day. The bride got ready at the Wyndham hotel at Playhouse Square and the view from her window was awesome. All the bridesmaids were ready when we arrived and they helped Courtney get into her dress. She looked stunning. I LOVE her blue shoes and her dress had pockets! After getting a few pictures of the bride we were off to the beautiful and historic St. Ann Church.

One of my favorite parts of the day is turning around to see what a groom’s reaction is to seeing his bride for the first time. Rick’s smile did not disappoint. Courtney looked radiant and the ceremony was beautiful from beginning to end.

We had a few hours between the ceremony and reception, so we hit up different parts of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens and Cleveland Museum of Art. I have never had so much time to photograph the couple and bridal party! Having that much time  was great and completely relaxed.

The gang celebrated by popping open some champagne before heading to Night Town for the reception. Night Town has a cool, eclectic feel, with an intimate setting. I should also mention the food was delicious.

Everyone was ready to party and the rest of the night was a fun celebration. The Sunrise Jones provided live music for the reception and they were awesome. Ricky and Courtney even had the opportunity to surprise some of their guests by performing with the band. The dance floor was small, but packed with fun people dancing the night away.C+R(wedding)-892-lowres8C+R(wedding)-1062-lowres9C+R(wedding)-1894-lowresC+R(wedding)-1874-lowres

Courtney and Rick, I wish you all the best in this life together. There is no doubt in my mind that you two will enjoy a very fun journey together. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Ferrara!

Newborn Days {A Lifestyle Newborn Session}: Clare

Newborn Days…

Snuggles and coos, swaddled in soft, pretty blankets.

Skin smooth as silk,

Intoxicating new baby smells.

Tiny fingers and toes,

One perfect little nose.

Awake, asleep, awake, asleep.

Rocking, shushing, kissing, hugging,

Feeding, burping, changing.

These tender moments go so fast.

Hold on, take every second in.

Close your eyes, hold that little one tight;

Take a deep breath and begin it all again.

Our Kiddos {ages 7&4}

Tomorrow we start back to school and as I was thinking about what to do for first day of school pictures, I realized I never took pictures of our kids when they turned four and seven. Besides pictures on my iphone, I have not picked up my actual camera to take a picture of these two since this past Thanksgiving. I’m thankful the iphone has such a good camera on it to allow me to capture out every day lives, but it will never compare to my 5D Mark iii, especially if I want to print anything in large sizes to hang around our home. This is what we got in just under 10 minutes yesterday. I couldn’t be happier with these images and even though Nolan may be a bit goofy at this age, I wouldn’t have it any other way!E7+N4-052-lowres1E7+N4-068-lowres3E7+N4-086-lowres42E7+N4-012-lowresE7+N4-072-lowresE7+N4-091-lowres

Lifestyle Family Session: The Daltons

With three energetic and adorable little boys this family has a lot of energy! I loved watching the boys run around their beautiful back yard because they were in their element and their smiles were genuine. Nothing could be easier than capturing a beautiful family having fun in their own backyard.dalton-189-lowresdalton-201-lowres1dalton-058-lowresdalton-061-lowres2dalton-238-lowresdalton-252-lowres

Our Lady of Peace Wedding: Kara+Andrew

Kara and Andrew’s wedding day was full of one special moment after another, so narrowing down images to tell the story of their day was extremely hard. The moment Kara’s dad saw her in her dress for the first time was priceless and so fun to witness and I loved capturing everyone’s reactions. The weather that day was incredibly rainy, but for some reason the sky cleared up every time we needed to go outside for pictures. Immediately after taking pictures on the patio at Kara’s parents house the rain started pouring down.  During the ceremony the thunder boomed and the buckets of rain came down, but five minutes later when it was time for the processional, the sun came out and from then on the rain was not an issue. Once the reception started the party began! Kara and Andrew hired the best DJ I have ever experienced because he had the guests dancing and partying before the festivities even began and the fun continued throughout the entire night. I loved their tradition of family and friends singing the couple a song while they cut their cake. And from then on it was pure entertainment to watch all of the dancing and let me tell you, the bride and groom had some serious dance moves:) Kara and Andrew, I wish you all the best in this life together!

Newborn Session: Albert James

Photographing a family’s first born is incredible. Watching a couple figure out their new roles as parents makes my heart happy because I can remember that so well and yet it seems like so long ago. Albie (I love that his parents call him this) is a precious little peanut who is perfect in every way. Just go ahead and see for yourself:)albertjames-095-lowresalbertjames-207-lowresalbertjames-063-lowresalbertjames-075-lowres2albertjames-084-lowresalbertjames-080-lowres3albertjames-165-lowres

Brookside Farms Wedding: Katie+Dan

Katie and Dan are just a blast to be around. These two seem to be up for anything, so much that they willingly jumped into a lake for their engagement session. Their wedding day was no different. I arrived to Brookside Farms in pouring down rain, only to find one very happy bride who was not letting the rain affect the mood of the day at all. She told me she had umbrellas and was ready to get pictures rain or shine. Katie and Dan’s wedding gave me an idea of who they were as individuals and as a couple as everyone smiled and laughed from beginning to end. I saw happiness and I too had a smile on my face all day. From meaningful, yet hilarious wedding vows, a dancing processional, to smashing cake into the best man and master of honor’s face during cake cutting, they were true to themselves and what makes them special. This wedding was a true celebration from beginning to end; and wouldn’t you know the rain stopped just in time to enjoy a beautiful sunset. Congratulations, Katie and Dan, it was such a joy to capture your day!

Cleveland Engagement Session: Kristen+Billy

They both grew up in Northeast Ohio and were set up by a mutual friend after she moved to California. They hit it off and she moved back. While most people would think its crazy to want to live in Cleveland instead of San Diego, a gorgeous night like the one below definitely doesn’t hurt the pros vs cons list for Cleveland. Not too mention they are getting married at Mapleside Farms this coming October and Autumn in Northeast Ohio is nothing short of gorgeous. But really, wouldn’t you live just about to be with the one you love? Congratulations, Kristen and Billy, I’m really excited to capture your wedding day!

Engagement Session: Courtney+Rick

Engagement sessions are just so fun for me. I love getting to know a couple better before their wedding day and these two are so relaxed and fun to hang out with. We started out at a Fireside Book Shop, a place Rick and Courtney frequent in downtown Chagrin Falls. After exploring the bookstore we headed to the wonderful Chagrin Falls Popcorn Shop and had fun getting some casual shots enjoying ice cream and popcorn before exploring more of downtown Chagrin Falls. And you just can’t leave this area without checking out the waterfall below the shops. I can’t wait for their wedding this September!C+R(engagement)-043C+R(engagement)-014C+R(engagement)-004C+R(engagement)-029C+R(engagement)-080-lowresC+R(engagement)-074-lowresC+R(engagement)-082-lowresC+R(engagement)-091-lowresC+R(engagement)-149-lowresC+R(engagement)-138-lowresC+R(engagement)-130-lowresC+R(engagement)-100-lowresC+R(engagement)-275-lowresC+R(engagement)-264-lowresC+R(engagement)-207-lowresC+R(engagement)-213-lowresC+R(engagement)-296-lowres
